Mission Statement:
To fulfill unmet healthcare and social service needs of individuals and families in Palm Beach County.
History:
FoundCare, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 community based organization that offers a variety of services in Palm Beach County. Originally founded in 1985 as Comprehensive AIDS Program of Palm Beach County, Inc. (CAP), it is one of largest community based programs serving people living with HIV/AIDS in Palm Beach County. As the organization grew, the Board of Directors determined the need to address the larger unmet need for healthcare in the County beyond just HIV/AIDS patients.
The Board created a separate organization for the health center program in 2002, which eventually was renamed FoundCare. In 2009, FoundCare Health Center was opened. The two programs operated side by side as CAP and FoundCare, until August of 2013, when the Boards decided to merge the organizations under the FoundCare name, with CAP becoming a program of FoundCare, Inc. In November of 2013, FoundCare was recognized as a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC).
